Dr. Marcus Leung is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the School of Energy and Environment at the City University of Hong Kong. His current research interests include the characterization of microbial communities (microbiome) in ecosystems spanning from urban environments to human body sites. He obtained his PhD at University College London’s Centre for Clinical Microbiology, specializing in infectious diseases and immunity. He has work experience in food microbiology, antigen detection, cancer research laboratories in government, industrial, and academic settings. He has provided lectures to different audiences―from graduate and medical students to clinicians as well as scientists in universities, regional and international conferences. He has also authored numerous peer reviewed original research and review articles.
